Lights, Camera... Music?
Ok people, it's time to shake things up!
Yes, this post is the first official Jimzip.com Rocktober giveaway, designed to put some tunes in your pocket, and a smile on your dial! But discarding the cheesiness for a moment and in all seriousness, I've got a shiny new 8GB iPod nano here that I'm just dying to give to someone!
And all you have to do to have it arrive in your mailbox, is leave a comment! It's that simple! (You didn't think I'd give an iPod away without some shameless self-promotion did you?) On October 30th, everyone that's left a comment will be put in a hat, and someone will be picked out. Yay iPods! The only rule is that you can't post as anonymous. If you do that, I don't know who to give the iPod to! So make sure you use your Blogger account or an openID (WordPress, AIM, TypePad or LiveJournal), or a name with a URL.
Multiple comments don't give you more chances, but I do like comments. :) Leave one on any post made between now (this one included) and the 30th to go into the hat! The comp closes on the 30th, and only comments made between now and then will be counted, so make sure you check back and see if you've won!
Cheers all, and good luck!

Alright alright I'll take the bait. Sign me up! I think first person deserves first prize though! :)
Holy free ipod, Jamesy.
Are you just trying to lure out the lurkers like me? Ah well, I'll bite.
xo
That's very generous of you, James...and a great way of getting to know those anonymous posters, too! :D
...two bites at the bait already! (and I guess I'd make it three)
Instead of Septober giveaway, I thought you would've called it a Rocktober giveaway. You know, because iPod Nanos are small, like rocks.
Btw, Mt. Rainier is in the Cascade mountain range, not the Olympics silly. I'm commenting on an earlier post, but I want to be in the running for the ipod!
First of all, I'm going to avoid saying something blatantly obvious because hey, I'm tired but still reasonably sensible.
Second, LHC: give it some time to be calibrated and put into proper use before we deny any possibility of something crazy happening. My money's on some better theories concerning dark fluid. Oh, and we know enough about black holes to realise we'd be more than dead before we even managed to get "inside". My vote is for Super Dead, but again I tend to the super side of things (blatant false advertising regarding super underwear has ruined many a night out)
And third? Well, it's combo time. How are you sponsoring this comp of yours? I'm wondering if it's out of your own pocket or if you're branching out contact wise more than we had imagined (Tell the Queen I said "'sup..."). And certain thing we keep meaning to do... send me an sms and we'll set up a day and time within the next week or couple of days boyo.
Now I'll stop wasting message space and start getting you to make me a Blogspot template. I gots to get back in the game! ;)
Ok this is in case Ali stops by again - you don't need to worry. The large hadron collider is now broken so we won't all be going to our doom until around March next year. So everybody stop panicking and get back to taking stuff for granted. :)
Aw geez Luke, what are you doing, I love leaving people in a state of terror and despair!
I kidd of course, but that's interesting news. I've got the LHC url in my bookmarks now so I'll be more in the loop, especially if there and more incidents in sector 3-4. (Though you seem to be following it a lot closer than I so maybe I should just let you update me. Heheh. :) ).
And Ali, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. The scientists did say there was only a 'very small chance' that something will go wrong. :p
Now for individual response time (hurrah!):
Kyle: Hahah. That'd be a nice way to run things, it'd make it easier on my part anyway, but the good thing is (for you) there aren't many comments, so you've got a good chance!
Meghan: Well hey there!! I had no idea you even knew I had a blog! :) Good to see you over this neck of the woods Meghan, and yep, I totally mean to lure out the lurkers! Consider yourself de-lurked!
Patrick: It's almost Christmas, I feel I should give, after taking so much (cue dramatic music). Heheh.
Luke: Hey I gave you a response already, no cheating!
Ali: I know you didn't post on this entry, but yay! Good to see you around here again!
Ed: Well... out of all the opinions I'd listen to on physic-like things, I'd listen to yours. (I seem to recall an article discussing the possibility of black-holes being akin to wormholes though... that's probably where that CRAZY idea came from!). Thank you for respectfully debunking it though. ;)
Sean: Arg.. I didn't fix that? I'll do it now. But that will make your comment obsolete? No? :p
Cheers all,
Jimzip :D
I think I've commented at least once before, but hey, you've lured out another lurker.. interested to see what sort of crazy hidden terms and conditions apply to this septober giveaway (although i do agree with luke re: rocktober, however I think adding the extra "fest" to that would make it just perfect. Nothing like a good old Rocktoberfest!)
There we go. By popular demand, the Septober giveaway has been redubbed the 'Rocktober' giveaway. ;)
Jimzip :D
Dale wonders, seeing as you were swayed rather easily into changing the name of the giveaway (popular demand = 2 people), would it be as easy to get the name changed back? Or changed to another, less appropriate name? Why I could recruit some unassuming folk and we could petition you to rename it the first official Jimzip.com Earmuff giveaway, even though you have no intention of giving away earmuffs! How ludicrous that would be!
Good thing I don't follow through on a lot of my ideas...
Heheh. Well usually I wouldn't bow down to the might of peer pressure Dale, but in this case, the suggestion was both witty and made more sense. ;)
Rest assured I will never listen to suggestions again.... - wait.
Jimzip :D
wait. i change my vote to earmuff giveaway.
